What sustainability means to us

In viticulture, we think in terms of generations, as a vineyard remains productive for 40 years or more. The way we farm determines whether fertile soil, clean water, and an intact ecosystem are preserved for our children. We also monitor our carbon footprint and strive to reduce it wherever possible.

We implement the following measures:

  • avoiding insecticides, mineral fertilizers, and herbicides
  • reducing pesticide use through biological controls and safe alternatives such as baking soda
  • building humus levels via natural cover cropping and sheep manure fertilization
  • encouraging natural predators—for example, by installing perches for birds of prey
  • maintaining ongoing dialogue and cooperation with public bodies such as the Chamber of Agriculture.
