Nierstein Orbel

The term "Orbel" derives from the Middle High German word *Ölbel*, meaning "sturdy fellow." Indeed, Orbel wines are complex and full-bodied, thanks to the vineyard's southern slope and somewhat deeper soils. This *Großes Gewächs* (Grand Cru) site spans the territories of Schwabsburg and Nierstein and is relatively sheltered. Possessing a unique charm, the wines are wonderfully approachable even in their youth, yet they also offer outstanding aging potential.
